This Cookie Policy explains how Binari Software (“Company,” “we,” “us,” “our”) uses cookies and similar tracking technologies on novuscompliance.com (the “Site”) and within Novus Cloud, our FATCA and CRS reporting platform (the “Services”). It explains what these technologies are, why we use them and your rights to control them.
Read it together with our Privacy Policy, which sets out how we collect, use and share personal information.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your computer, smartphone or other device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work, to remember preferences and to provide reporting information to site owners.
Cookies set by the website owner (here, Novus Compliance) are first-party cookies. Cookies set by other parties are third-party cookies; they enable third-party features such as analytics or advertising.
We also use related technologies that work in a similar way, including:
- Local and session storage: for caching platform state and improving load times
- Web beacons and pixel tags: small images used to measure page visits and email opens
In this policy, “cookies” includes these related technologies unless stated otherwise.
2. Why do we use cookies?
We group cookies into four categories:
- Strictly necessary: required for the Site and Services to work. Without them you cannot sign in, navigate securely or use core features.
- Functional: remember your preferences and settings, such as language or region.
- Analytics and performance: help us understand how the Services are used and where people run into problems.
- Marketing and advertising: measure the effectiveness of our campaigns and deliver relevant advertising on third-party platforms.
3. Cookies on our website
Our public website (the marketing pages, knowledge base, blog and free tools) sets one first-party cookie, and only after you request a template download. It does not load third-party analytics or advertising scripts.
| Cookie | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| nc_tpl | novuscompliance.com | Remembers that you completed the template download form, so you are not asked again. Signed; readable only by our server (HttpOnly). | 30 days |
The free tools do not set cookies. Files you check with the XML validator are processed in memory and not stored. Our forms (waitlist, template download, blog comments) use a signed form token and a hashed IP address for abuse prevention; neither is a cookie.
4. Cookies in the Novus Cloud platform
The following tables describe the cookies and similar technologies used by the Novus Cloud platform and our campaigns. Names and durations may vary slightly by device, browser and the features you use.
4.1 Strictly necessary cookies

- We do not sell cookie data or share it with data brokers.
- We do not use cookies to track you across unrelated third-party websites beyond the analytics and advertising purposes described above.
5. Session and persistent cookies
- Session cookies are temporary and are deleted when you close your browser. We use them mainly for authentication and session management.
- Persistent cookies remain on your device for a set period (from 1 minute to 2 years) or until you delete them. We use them for preferences, analytics and marketing measurement.
6. Third-party cookies and your data
Some cookies are set and controlled by third parties. Their use is governed by the provider’s own privacy policy:
- Google Analytics and Google Ads: policies.google.com/privacy
- Meta (Facebook and Instagram): facebook.com/privacy/policy
7. How can you control cookies?
You have the right to decide whether to accept or reject cookies.
7.1 Browser settings
Most browsers let you view, delete and block cookies, for specific sites or all sites, and alert you when a cookie is set:
- Google Chrome: Manage cookies in Chrome
- Mozilla Firefox: Clear cookies and site data in Firefox
- Apple Safari: Manage cookies in Safari
- Microsoft Edge: Delete and manage cookies in Edge
7.2 Analytics and advertising opt-outs
- Google Analytics: Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on
- Google Ads: Google Ads settings
- Meta advertising: Meta ad preferences
- EU and UK industry opt-out: Your Online Choices
- US industry opt-outs: Network Advertising Initiative and Digital Advertising Alliance
7.3 Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
No uniform standard for recognising Do-Not-Track (“DNT”) signals has been finalised, so we do not currently respond to them.
We honour the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal where required by applicable law (for example, under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the CPRA). When we detect a GPC signal, we treat it as a request to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information for targeted advertising.
8. Legal basis and consent
European Economic Area and United Kingdom (GDPR / UK GDPR and ePrivacy)
Our use of cookies is governed by the ePrivacy Directive (and its national implementations) and the GDPR / UK GDPR. Our legal bases are:
- Strictly necessary cookies: our legitimate interest in operating a secure, functional website and platform (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR), or performance of a contract with you (Article 6(1)(b)). These do not require consent.
- Functional, analytics and marketing cookies: used only with your prior consent (Article 6(1)(a)), which you may withdraw at any time.
India (Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023)
We process personal data collected through cookies in accordance with the DPDP Act. Where consent is required, we obtain it through clear, informed notice and let you withdraw it and exercise your rights as described in our Privacy Policy.
California (CCPA / CPRA)
You have the right to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information. We do not sell personal information. Some advertising cookies may count as “sharing” for cross-context behavioural advertising; you can opt out using the tools in Section 7.2.
9. What happens if you disable cookies?
- Strictly necessary cookies disabled: you will not be able to sign in to Novus Cloud or use authenticated features.
- Functional cookies disabled: your preferences (language, layout, module defaults) will not be remembered between visits.
- Analytics cookies disabled: we cannot measure performance or improve the experience. This does not affect your use of the platform.
- Marketing cookies disabled: you may still see our ads, but they will be less relevant. This does not affect your use of the platform.
- The website’s
nc_tplcookie blocked: you will be asked to complete the template form again on your next download.
